    20-Jun-2022 2 minutes Read

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd., India's leading 4G mobile broadband and digital service provider, will install the next generation multi-terabit India-Asia-Xpress (IAX) underwater cable system in Hulhumale, Maldives. The high-capacity, high-speed IAX system will link Hulhumale directly to the world's main internet centres in India and Singapore.

The India-Europe-Xpress (IEX) system, on the other hand, connects Mumbai to Milan through Savona, Italy, with additional stops in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean. While IAX is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2023, IEX is projected to be operational by the middle of 2024.

    KEYPOINTS OF UNDERSEA CABLE SYSTEM:

    1. ·         Undersea cable systems and data centres assist 5G and the digital economy, which enables India's digital ecosystem by constructing massive integrated capabilities.

    ·         Such an elevated, high-speed system will deliver more than 200Tb/s of capacity at 100Gb/s speeds for more than 16,000 kilometres.

    ·         Using open system technology and the most recent frequency switching RoADM/branching devices provides quick update rollout and utmost versatility in adding/dropping signals over various sites.
