    Huma Qureshi turns Tarla Dalal for the first-ever biopic on a Chef!

    Huma Qureshi will be seen playing the role of India’s first-ever Home Chef, Tarla Dalal. Tarla was a food writer, chef, cookbook author, and a host of cooking shows. She specializes in Indian and Gujarati Cuisine.

    Huma Qureshi has shared the first look poster of her upcoming film Tarla Dalal as she starts filming her biopic and which is scheduled to release in the year 2023

    The biopic will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari the epic food filler will be directed by Piyush Gupta.

    While deciding to make a film on the popular late chef, Huma Qureshi said, Tarla Dalal, reminds her of her childhood. Her mother had a copy of her book in the kitchen and would often try many recipes for her school tiffin. She remembers the time when she helped her mother make Tarla’s homemade mango ice cream. Those sweet memories are very special for her.

    Huma is thankful to the main producing crew of the team Ronnie, Ashwini, and Nitesh for having faith in her to play this inspiring character.

    Tarla’s story is a lot more than being an amazing chef. It’s a story about a working mother who changed the face of vegetarian recipes in India and paved paths for many home cooks and startups to achieve their dreams.

    This is the first time when Bollywood will be depicting the life story of a chef on screen. Tarla Dalal used to impress everyone with her palatable recipes and was every cook’s inspiration. She is often given credit for refashioning vegetarian food in India. Tarla Dalal was the first Indian woman to have been awarded a Padmashree award in the culinary skills category in 2007. Her “Desi Nuskhe '' is a topic of conversation in every Indian cooking household and is often given credit for refashioning vegetarian food in India.
