SMOOTH WHISKEYS FOR THE FIRST TIME DRINKERS
Even if
you're new to whiskey, it doesn't have to be daunting. And, contrary to common
opinion, it is neither harsh, difficult, or designed to be taken in a specific
manner. Yes, the flavour profiles of various whiskeys might be complicated, but
it's nothing you can't manage, especially if you start with the appropriate
bottle.
1. ABERLOUR 16
This
Speyside single malt is 16 years old and has been double-matured in ex-bourbon
and ex-sherry barrels. This adds a remarkable depth of flavour and richness to
the whiskey. It's also much smoother and polished than younger bottlings."
It delivers a superb flavour experience and a chance to discover the force of a
European oak barrel that previously housed Oloroso sherry. It is well balanced
with the impact of American and European wood. "Aberlour 16-year-old adds
cinnamon spice, dark fruits, and milk chocolate to the Aberlour blackcurrant
flavour," says Robertson. Swirl it around your tongue for incredible silky
bliss. This dram has the potential to become a favourite that you return to
time and time again.
2. JACK DANIEL’S TENNESSEE HONEY
Flavored whiskeys aren't for everyone, and not every bottle made is noteworthy. However, there is one exception. This whiskey is incredibly smooth, with a hint of sweetness from the honey liqueur that is combined with the famed Tennessee whiskey. This is a terrific spot to start exploring with a great American classic that is easy on the pocketbook. Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey is delicious on its own, but it also goes great in an old-fashioned, a Manhattan, or a whiskey sour.

3. JAMESON
This
easy-going and pleasant whiskey is the world's best-selling Irish whiskey.
Jameson, like many Irish whiskeys, is triple-distilled, which eliminates more
"impurities" and gives it a lighter, cleaner taste. "This is a
fantastic value-for-money blended whiskey from Ireland that is really easy on
the taste, almost with a hint of sweetness," Agarwal adds. It's delicious
on the rocks and makes a terrific cocktail basis.
4. AUCHENTOSHAN 12
Auchentoshan 12 is a triple-distilled whiskey that has been matured in oak barrels for 12 years and is produced in a distillery just outside of Glasgow, Scotland. This whiskey is ideal for first-timers since it is extremely smooth and somewhat honeyed, making it ideal for people tuning their palates to the flavours of whisky. On the nose, it's similarly fruity and complex, but it doesn't hit you with peat. The flavour is pleasant enough to enjoy on its own, but it also works well in a cocktail.

5. BALLANTINE’S 17 YEARS OLD
According to
Agarwal, this is an exceptionally well-made whiskey that won't break the
wallet. The lengthier maturation of Ballantine's 17-Year-Old adds depth of
flavour and character to the mix, as well as a faint smokiness and a velvety
mouthfeel.
6. CHIVAS 12
Don't be
misled into believing that the enjoyment of Scotch is limited to single malts,
especially if your palette isn't yet acclimated to them. Blended whiskies, like
as Chivas 12, provide an intriguing world of flavours and might be more
palatable for a novice. Every sip will deliver a silky texture and
characteristic Speyside flavours of crisp orchard fruits. It's your decision
whether to drink it neat, on the rocks, or in a powerful or fruity cocktail. A
traditional highball with a crisp soda and enough of ice, on the other hand, is
nothing short of invigorating.
