    1. PUSHKAR (415KMS)


    Pushkar, one of India's oldest inhabited sites, is linked with Lord Brahma, the Creator of the Universe. It has a magical charm that appeals to both local and foreign visitors, since it is centered on the namesake sacred lake. You may enjoy hot air ballooning here in addition to viewing its notable sights such as Brahma Temple, Pap Mochini Temple, Man Mahal, and Rangji Temple.

    HOW TO REACH: It is located in the Rajasthan region of Ajmer and is around 7 hours 30 minutes’ drive from Delhi via NH 48. Pushkar's nearest railway station and airport are at Ajmer (14 km) and Jaipur (151 km), respectively.

    BEST TIME TO VISIT: While it is a year-round vacation, the weather is much nicer in the winter. Those who wish to attend the famed yearly Camel Fair can do so in October or November.

    2. DHARAMSHALA & MCLEODGANJ (480KMS)


    Dharamshala, or Dharamsala, is one of the most well-known weekend destinations near Delhi, nestled against the majestic Dhauladhar Mountains. And one of the best places to visit in India in winter 2023. Mcleodganj, a bizarre site recognized globally for its affiliation with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, is located in the high reaches of this calm metropolis. While here, you may photograph the wonderful craftsmanship on exhibit at Namgyal Monastery, watch some incredible art forms at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, stroll around the tea garden, or get a little athletic by climbing, hiking, or paragliding.

    HOW TO REACH: The fastest and quickest method to get to Dharamshala is by plane, as Kangra Airport is only 15 kilometers away. Pathankot is the nearest railway station (86 km). Those who wish to enjoy the meandering road ride might use NH 44 to get here.

    3. AULI (500KMS)


    The splendour of this Uttarakhand hill resort changes with the seasons. Summers provide the colors of apple orchards, deodars, and oaks, while winters bring the shine of snow, making it one of India's most popular skiing resorts. It also offers a 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) cable car and chairlift for thrill seekers.

    HOW TO REACH: The nearest airport to Auli is Jolly Grant Airport (275 km) in Dehradun. Rishikesh Railway Station is the nearest rail station to the ski resort (260 km). All main sites in Uttarakhand and neighboring states are well connected by motor able highways to Auli.

    BEST TIME TO VISIT: Except during the monsoon season, all year.

    4. BIR BILLING (516KMS)


    The twin Himachal Pradesh resorts of Bir and Billing are well known among adrenaline seekers for the annual paragliding competition. This is not a place for the faint of heart, since arriving here and not participating in the sport is a sin. Paragliding is the greatest way to experience the gorgeous environment, which includes tea terraces, deep woods, Tibetan communities, and snow-capped Dhauladhar hills in the background.

    HOW TO REACH: There are frequent HRTC buses from Delhi to Bir Billing, which takes around 10 hours to travel via NH 44. Kangra Airport (67 km) is the nearest airport, while Pathankot Railway Station is the nearest railhead (142 km).

    BEST TIME TO VISIT: Throughout the year

    5. KASOL (520KMS)


    Kasol, a growing star among young people, is noted for its hippy lifestyle, Israeli residents, and stylish cafés nestled within the pristine grandeur of the Parvati Valley. It also serves as a starting point for treks to Malana, Tosh, and Kheerganga.

    HOW TO REACH: There are no direct train or aircraft connections, the most convenient method to get to Kasol is via car. However, Bhuntar or Kullu–Manali Airport, which gets frequent flights from all major Indian cities, is around 31 kilometres distant. Kasol's nearest railway station is Pathankot (295 kilometres away).

    BEST TIME TO VISIT: March to June
